Reason for Teaching: I have always loved children since I was a young girl. I have many fond memories of spending time with children whether it was teaching Sunday school, babysitting, or teaching. My heart is to help young children learn about Jesus and that each one is unique and gifted according to His plan for their lives. Watching children learn, grow, and develop never gets old; as well as watching the excitement on their faces when they learn and understand a new concept or fact of life and nature.

Title: Special Needs Tutor

Education: Abeka Academy

Church Involvement: Upton Brethren Church

Hobbies: Reading, playing piano, snowboarding, and spending quality time with my family and friends.

Fun Facts: Following my senior year of high school, I spent a year in volunteer service teaching kindergarten.

Life Verse: Psalm 18:1-2, 6 “I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.”

Reason for Teaching: Children are so special! I love their unexpected, humorous observations and innocent faith. As a teacher, it is a delight to watch them learn and grow and to see their eyes light up when they finally understand a difficult concept. My goal as a tutor is to help struggling students reach that point of understanding and to point them to Jesus, the greatest Teacher of all!
